Saint Paul
Feast day: June 29
Patron of missionaries, theologians, and writers
Life
A fierce persecutor of the Church, Saul was struck down on the road to Damascus by the risen Christ and became the great Apostle to the Gentiles. He carried the Gospel across the Roman world, planted churches, and wrote letters that still shape Christian faith. He was beheaded in Rome, tradition holds, under the same persecution as Peter.
Prayer
Saint Paul, pray that we may be transformed by the grace that met you on the road, and that our lives may proclaim Christ as boldly as your words. Amen.
